Date: March 25, 2018
Everything went according to plan when second ranked Firenze All Foods (22-5) outscored at home 14th ranked Alba (8-19) 98-73 on Sunday. They outrebounded Alba 36-23 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Firenze All Foods looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Alba's players. It was a great evening for swingman Jacopo Lucarelli (197-96, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Point guard Alessandro Grande (183-94) helped adding 20 points, 7 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was Paolo Gallo (200-90) with 18 points and swingman Alessandro Guagliardi (194-94) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Firenze All Foods maintains second place in B with 22-5 record having just two points less than leader San Severo. Newly promoted Alba keeps the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. Firenze All Foods will face Montecatiniterme (#4) on the road in the next round. Alba will play against San Miniato (#11) and hope to win that game.
