Regular Season Round 24: Promete - Real Canoe 53-57

Everything went according to plan in Logrono where seventh ranked Real Canoe (14-10) won against 11th ranked Promete (6-17) 57-53 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Promete won third quarter 20-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Real Canoe won last quarter 14-12. Strangely Promete outrebounded Real Canoe 35-22 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88, agency: ProDep Management) who scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Lithuanian power forward Dovile Miliauskaite (187-89, college: Towson, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 13 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Sune Swart (190-95, college: Bucknell) who recorded 19 points and 5 rebounds and guard Maria-Ylenia Manzanares (175-83) added 2 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Real Canoe moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with Alcobendas. Loser Promete keeps the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Real Canoe's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Madrid to the arena Olimpico 64.
