Regular Season Round 25: Polpharma - Legia 101-105

Bottom-ranked Legia managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of four consecutive losses. This time newly promoted Legia won against ninth-ranked Polpharma in Starogard Gdanski 105-101. Legia made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. Legia players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Polpharma was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Lukasz Wilczek (190-86) stepped up and scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and American forward Joseph Wall (199-89, college: Seattle Pacific) chipped in 24 points. At the losing side point guard Marcin Flieger (185-84, agency: Promotex) responded with 29 points and point guard Jakub Schenk (183-94) scored 15 points and 9 assists. Four Legia and five Polpharma players scored in double figures. Polpharma's coach Milija Bogicevic tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Legia maintains seventeenth place with 3-24 record. Polpharma at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Legia will play against higher ranked MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Polpharma will play against Asseco (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
