Regular Season Round 25: Bauru - Botafogo F.R. 103-78

Very expected game when 12th ranked Botafogo F.R. (7-19) was smashed on the road by fifth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (16-10) 103-78 on Sunday. Paschoalotto/Bauru forced 19 Botafogo F.R. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Botafogo F.R.'s players. Botafogo F.R. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for the former international center Rafael Hettsheimer (206-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Lithuanian Osvaldas Matulionis (200-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Five Paschoalotto/Bauru players scored in double figures. Center Atila Santos (208-83, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and guard Gabriel De-Oliveira (202-93) added 14 points and 5 steals in the effort for Botafogo F.R.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Paschoalotto/Bauru maintains fifth place with 16-10 record. Loser Botafogo F.R. keeps the twelfth position with 19 games lost. Paschoalotto/Bauru will face Vasco Da G. (#11) in Rio de Janeiro in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Botafogo F.R. will play on the road against Vivo/Franca in Sao Paulo and hope to win that game.
