No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Reinas (4-6) crushed at home 7th ranked Acereras (1-9) 78-56 on Sunday. Reinas forced 25 Acereras turnovers. The former international Annel Tapia (171-86) notched 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international guard Lucia Sanchez (167-93) supported her with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 23 points and 19 rebounds by Guatemalan center Linda Gonzalez (178-92) did not help to save the game for Acereras. Forward Cruz Morales added 8 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Reinas maintains fifth position with 4-6 record. Acereras lost third consecutive game. Acereras at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Quetzales. Reinas will meet at home bottom-ranked Quetzales (#8) in the next round. Acereras will play against the league's second-placed Mieleras and hope to win that game.
