Regular Season Round 27: Matera - Senigallia 91-72

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Senigallia (15-12) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Matera (15-12) 91-72 on Sunday. Matera dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Senigallia's 24 and made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Senigallia 38-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for swingman Leonardo Battistini (198-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Franco Migliori (200-82) helped adding 18 points. The best for the losing side was guard Marco Giacomini (182-94) with 16 points and 9 assists and forward Lorenzo Tortu (200-92) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Senigallia players scored in double figures. Matera moved-up to fifth place in B. Matera will face league's second-placed Recanati on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Senigallia will play against Pescara (#4) and hope to win that game.
