Very expected game in Broadmeadow where Bankstown Bruins (0-4) were defeated by Newcastle Hunters (4-0) 82-67 on Sunday. Newcastle Hunters outrebounded Bankstown Bruins 53-34 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Sharif Watson (198-93, college: Ariz.Christian) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. Jacob Foy chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Dalibor Nonkovic (198, college: Canyons) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and Svetomir Gavrilovic added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four Bankstown Bruins players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
