Regular Season Round 20: TLU/Kalev - Tartu Ulikool 64-95

There was no surprise in Tallinn where 5th ranked TLU/Kalev (9-12) was crushed by second ranked Tartu Ulikool (16-7) 95-64 on Sunday. The game without a history. Tartu Ulikool led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Tartu Ulikool outrebounded TLU/Kalev 45-23 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by TLU/Kalev's players. The best player for the winners was the former international Janar Talts (206-83) who scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Steven Cook (196-94, college: Princeton) chipped in 16 points. Tartu Ulikool's coach Priit Vene felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Kayel Locke (196-94, college: NC-Greensboro) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and Senegalese center Bamba Fall (217-86, college: SMU) added 15 points respectively for the hosts. Tartu Ulikool maintains second position with 16-7 record having six points less than leader Kalev/Cramo. Loser TLU/Kalev keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. Tartu Ulikool will face TTU (#7) in Tallinn in the next round where they are favorite. TLU/Kalev's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tallinn to the arena Kalev/Cramo.
