Regular Season Round 25: Stelmet - Asseco 86-93

The game between second ranked Stelmet Enea BC (18-8) and twelfth ranked Asseco (14-12) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Stelmet Enea BC was defeated by Asseco in a tough game in Zielona Gora 86-93. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Stelmet Enea BC. Asseco looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Mikolaj Witlinski (207-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. The former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (178-84) contributed with 13 points and 9 assists for the winners. American point guard James Florence (185-88, college: Mercer, agency: 3Eye) answered with 17 points and Montenegrin power forward Vladimir Dragicevic (206-86) added 18 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Stelmet Enea BC. Five Asseco and four Stelmet Enea BC players scored in double figures. Stelmet Enea BC's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Asseco moved-up to tenth place. Defending champion Stelmet Enea BC dropped to the third position with eight games lost. Asseco are looking forward to face Polpharma (#11) in Starogard Gdanski in the next round. Stelmet Enea BC will play at home against Start (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
