Regular Season Round 21: Maccabi Rishon - Bnei Hertzeliya 97-91

Date: March 26, 2018
Everything could happen in Rishon Le-Zion at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Maccabi Rishon and 10th ranked Bnei Hasharon had identical 8-12 record. This time Maccabi Rishon used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Hod Hasharon 97-91. Bnei Hasharon was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 53-45 second half run of Maccabi Rishon. It was a great shooting night for Maccabi Rishon especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard Drew Crawford (196-90, college: Northwestern) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import Keith Langford (193-83, college: Kansas) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and the former international swingman Shawn Dawson (198-93) added 29 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Bnei Hasharon's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Maccabi Rishon (9-12) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Galil Gilboa and Ironi Nes-Ziona. Bnei Hasharon at the other side keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. Maccabi Rishon's next round opponent will be Galil Gilboa (#9) in Rosh Pina. Bnei Hasharon will play at home against Maccabi Ashdod and hope to win that game.
