Regular Season Round 48: Akita NH - Iwate Big Bulls 99-49

Very expected game when 6th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (6-41) were smashed on the road by first ranked Akita Happinets (43-4) 99-49 on Wednesday. Akita Happinets forced 23 Iwate Big Bulls turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Akita Happinets looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Iwate Big Bulls' players. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) who led his team to a victory with 7 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Chris Cayole (201-85, college: St.Michael's) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and center Markhuri Sanders-Frison (203-88, college: California) added 4 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Iwate Big Bulls. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Akita Happinets have an impressive 21-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 43-4 record. Loser Iwate Big Bulls keep the sixth place with 41 games lost. Akita Happinets will face league's leader Fukuoka Rizing on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Iwate Big Bulls will play against Orange Vikings (#3) and hope to win that game.
