Regular Season Round 26: BM Slam Stal - GTK Gliwice 96-94

Fourteenth-ranked GTK (10-19) was very close to win a game against fourth ranked BM Slam Stal (19-9) in Ostrow Wlkp.. BM Slam Stal managed to secure only two-point victory 96-94. However their fans expected much easier game. BM Slam Stal players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. 29 personal fouls committed by GTK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Croatian forward Jure Skific (202-88, agency: 011 Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Serbian power forward Nikola Markovic (208-89) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four BM Slam Stal players scored in double figures. American point guard Quinton Hooker (183, college: N.Dakota) produced a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 10 assists and his fellow American import guard Jonathan Williams (190-95, college: Toledo) added 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. BM Slam Stal have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 19-9 record. GTK lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth place with 19 games lost. BM Slam Stal's next round opponent will be higher ranked Stelmet Enea BC (#3) in Zielona Gora and it may be the game of the week. GTK will play at home against Trefl (#8) and hope to win that game.
