Regular Season Round 30: Shimane SM - Shiga L-Stars 74-85

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Shiga L-Stars (15-32) won against on the road 6th ranked Shimane Magic (7-40) 85-74 on Wednesday. Shiga L-Stars looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Australian forward Venky Jois (202-93, college: E.Washington) chipped in 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Al Thornton (203-83, college: Florida St.) with 24 points and 7 rebounds and American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to third place, which they share with Osaka Evessa. Shimane Magic lost twenty first consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 40 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face league's second-placed Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shimane Magic will play on the road against Nishinomiya S. (#5) in Hyogo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
