The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Toyota Alvark as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Toyota Alvark defeated 4th ranked Tochigi Brex in Tokyo 90-78. Toyota Alvark made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The former international forward Daiki Tanaka (191-91) scored 20 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international guard Yusuke Endo (185-89) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Defending champion Tochigi Brex keeps the fourth place with 22 games lost. Tochigi Brex will play next round against Hitachi Sunrockers trying to get back on the winning streak. Toyota Alvark will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa.
