Regular Season Round 48: Toyotsu FE - Shinshu BW 69-89

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Toyotsu FE (29-18) in Nagoya on Wednesday night. Hosts were rolled over by fifth ranked Shinshu BW (22-24) 89-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Toyotsu FE. Shinshu BW made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for American forward Tim Dezelski (198-90, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Furuhashi Hiroki (185-92) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: Washington St.) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Takayuki Kodama (166-92) added 13 points in the effort for Toyotsu FE. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shinshu BW maintains fifth position with 22-24 record. Toyotsu FE at the other side still keeps top place with 18 games lost. Shinshu BW are looking forward to face Aomori Watts (#5) at home in the next round. Toyotsu FE will play against Tokyo Z (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
