Rather predictable result when second ranked Gunma (26-20) rolled over at home 6th ranked Tokyo Z (18-29) 100-60 on Wednesday. Gunma made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Gunma outrebounded Tokyo Z 39-27 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 9 rebounds. The other American import forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Gunma players scored in double figures. Guard Masuko Takumi (186-91) replied with 18 points and 5 assists and American center Luke Evans (203-91, college: Cal.Baptist) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo Z. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gunma maintains second position with 26-20 record having four points less than leader Akita NH. Tokyo Z lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 29 games lost. Gunma will face Kanazawa Sam. (#4) in Ishikawa in the next round. Tokyo Z will play at home against the league's leader Toyotsu FE and hope to win that game.
