Regular Season Round 23: AIK II - KFUM Blackeberg 72-104

There was no surprise in Solna where 12th ranked AIK II (2-19) was crushed by second ranked KFUM Blackeberg (16-5) 104-72 on Wednesday. The game without a history. KFUM Blackeberg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to AIK II's 40. KFUM Blackeberg looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by AIK II's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when KFUM Blackeberg made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for forward Joacim Edlund (195-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Daniel Persson (198-91) helped adding 23 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). KFUM Blackeberg's coach Adam Engstrom felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian Milan Milosevic (-99) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and Benjamin Balekelayi scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Four AIK II players scored in double figures. KFUM Blackeberg have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 16-5 record having just one point less than leader KFUM Fryshuset. AIK II lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 19 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
