Regular Season Round 43: KTP Basket - Lapua 113-119 OT

Bottom-ranked Lapuan Korikobrat managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the series of ten consecutive losses. This time they won against eighth-ranked KTP-Basket in Kotka 119-113. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KTP-Basket won third quarter 30-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where KTP-Basket used huge pressure winning it 26-24 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 9-15. Lapuan Korikobrat players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Puerto Rican-American forward Christopher Ortiz (203-93, college: Kent St., agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. American Maurice Creek (196-90, college: G.Washington) contributed with 30 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Tim Williams (203-93, college: N.Mexico) answered with 26 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard James Sinclair (194-93, college: W.Carolina) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for KTP-Basket. Four Lapuan Korikobrat and five KTP-Basket players scored in double figures. Lapuan Korikobrat maintains eleventh place with 7-31 record. KTP-Basket at the other side keeps the eighth position with 21 games lost. Lapuan Korikobrat will play against higher ranked Helsinki Seagulls (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KTP-Basket will play against Kouvot (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
