An interesting game for Kumamoto V. (34-13) which played road game in Matsuyama against one of their biggest challengers Orange Vikings (25-22). Second ranked Kumamoto V. had an easy win 90-71. Kumamoto V. made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Kumamoto V. outrebounded Orange Vikings 54-30 including a 40-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 17 rebounds and 8 assists. Power forward Ryota Nakanishi (199-88) contributed with 27 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Vincentian power forward Nyika Williams (203-87, college: Pacific) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Orange Vikings. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumamoto V. maintains second position with 34-13 record having just five point less than leader Akita NH. Loser Orange Vikings keep the third place with 22 games lost. Kumamoto V. will face Kagawa FA (#5) in Takamatsu in the next round. Orange Vikings will play on the road against Iwate Big Bulls and hope to win that game.
