Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Basket Landes (11-9) rolled over 9th ranked Mondeville (5-15) in Mont de Marsan 75-55 on Wednesday. The winners were led by Spanish swingman Queralt Casas (177-92) who scored that evening 26 points and 7 rebounds and American center Cierra Bravard (193-89, college: Florida St., agency: ProDep Management) supported her with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Basket Landes' coach Catherine Melain used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 13 points and 5 assists by Canadian forward Kimberley Gaucher-Smith (185-84, college: Utah) did not help to save the game for Mondeville. Czech swingman Romana Hejdova (184-88) added 13 points for the guests. Basket Landes moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Lattes Montp. Mondeville lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 15 games lost. Basket Landes will meet at home higher ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mondeville will play against Nantes Reze (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
