Everything could happen in Kalamunda at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Suns and 9th ranked Eagles had identical 1-2 record. This time Suns used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Morley 114-105 on Thursday night. Suns forced 21 Eagles turnovers and outrebounded them 50-35 including 21 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Eagles were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American center Kevin Davis (206-91, college: Cent.Washington) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Kerrod Horn (187-93) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Suns players scored in double figures. Swingman Drew Williamson (196-83, college: Metro St.) replied with 36 points (!!!), 5 assists and 5 steals and American forward Corey Easley (208-83, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) added 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Eagles. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Suns (2-2) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Rockingham F. and Hornsby S. Eagles lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with three games lost. Suns will face higher ranked Buccaneers (#5) in Wonthella in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Eagles will play on the road against Giants (#13) in Kalgoorlie and hope to win that game.
