The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Stirling S. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Stirling S. defeated 7th ranked Lightning in Perth 101-91. Stirling S. dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Lightning's 34. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Stirling S. brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Justin King (196-89, college: TRU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and Nigerian-American forward Robert Anshila (199-86, college: Ft.Hays State) who added 23 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Anshila is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American guard John Isenbarger (188-91, college: Elon) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and center Jarrad Prue (198-82) scored 8 points and 23 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Stirling S. have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Newcastle H. Lightning at the other side keeps the seventh place with two games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Lightning will play next round against Suns trying to get back on the winning streak. Stirling S. will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Wanneroo at Joondalup.
