Very expected game in Floreat where 9th ranked Hawks (1-3) were edged by top-ranked Cougars (2-0) 70-69 on Thursday. Cougars forced 23 Hawks turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Kisha Lee (182-85, college: UNLV) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Brianna Moyes (170, college: Akron) who added 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side swingman Emma Clarke (183-99) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Lauren Jeffers (170-88) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Hawks' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cougars keep a position of league leader, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Hawks dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. Cougars will face Redbacks (#5) in Northbridge in the next round. Hawks will play at home against Flames and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
