Regular Season Round 21: Kalev/Cramo - TLU/Kalev 97-64

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Tallinn: Kalev/Cramo (#1) and TLU/Kalev (#5). Kalev/Cramo (24-1) crushed visiting TLU/Kalev (9-15) by 33 points 97-64. The game was mostly controlled by Kalev/Cramo. TLU/Kalev was better in third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kalev/Cramo dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to TLU/Kalev's 30. They outrebounded TLU/Kalev 39-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Kalev/Cramo players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by TLU/Kalev's players. Serbian-Bulgarian guard Branko Mirkovic (190-82, agency: 011 Sports) stepped up and scored 20 points and 5 assists for the winners and American-Bulgarian power forward Cedric Simmons (206-86, college: N.Carolina St.) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds. Five Kalev/Cramo players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Senegalese center Bamba Fall (217-86, college: SMU) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Kayel Locke (196-94, college: NC-Greensboro) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Kalev/Cramo have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 24-1 record. TLU/Kalev lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with 15 games lost. Kalev/Cramo's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tallinn TTU.
