Regular Season Round 25: Bolzano - Scrivia 72-60

There was an upset when 4th placed Scrivia (17-8) lost on the road to fourteenth ranked Bolzano (7-19) 72-60 on Thursday. Bolzano outrebounded Scrivia 41-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for Croatian power forward Ivona Matic (189-86) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds (made all of her ten free throws !!!). Naturalized Senegalese guard Safy Fall (176-89) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Naturalized Brazilian swingman Tayara Madonna (170-91, agency: SPORTlab Agency) answered with 15 points and Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (185-88) added 16 points in the effort for Scrivia. Scrivia's coach Fabio Pozzi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bolzano moved-up to twelfth place in A2. Loser Scrivia keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Bolzano will face higher ranked Team Crema (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Scrivia will play against the league's second-placed Costa Masnaga having rather not much hope for a victory.
