Date: March 30, 2018
Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked JDA Dijon (14-11) outplayed at home 9th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (12-13) 102-81 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by JDA Dijon. Pau-Lacq-Orthez was better in fourth quarter 31-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JDA Dijon shot 62.3 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Quite impressive performance for American Rion Brown (198-91, college: Miami, FL) who helped to win the game recording 24 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: George Mason, agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four JDA Dijon players scored in double figures. American forward Ken Horton (199-89, college: Cent.Conn.St.) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (208-91) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Pau-Lacq-Orthez. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JDA Dijon have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Limoges and Nanterre. Loser Pau-Lacq-Orthez dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. JDA Dijon will face JSF Nanterre (#4) at home in the next round. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against Le Portel (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
