Regular Season Round 26: Denain - Fos-Provence 82-73

There was an upset when higher ranked Provence Basket (17-9) lost on the road to ninth ranked Denain Voltaire (13-13) 82-73 on Friday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Denain Voltaire looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Provence Basket was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Liberian swingman Thomas Bropleh (196-91, college: Boise St., agency: Duran International) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 7 rebounds. American-Cuban swingman Yunio Barrueta (198-93, college: Barry, agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Denain Voltaire players scored in double figures. Point guard Xavier Gaillou (192-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 assists and point guard Edouard Choquet (188-88) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Provence Basket. Provence Basket's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Denain Voltaire moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Vichy Clermont. Loser Provence Basket keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Denain Voltaire will face higher ranked Sluc Nancy (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Provence Basket will play against STB Le Havre and hope to win that game.
