Regular Season Round 25: Hyeres-Toulon - ASVEL 79-92

Date: March 30, 2018
Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Hyeres-Toulon (7-18) lost at home to tenth ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (13-12) 92-79 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket. Hyeres-Toulon was better in third quarter 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Quite impressive performance for American forward Justin Harper (208-89, college: Richmond) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. International Amine Noua (202-97, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket players scored in double figures. American-Armenian point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) answered with 26 points and 7 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and American forward Reggie Arnold (198-88, college: Boise St.) added 12 points in the effort for Hyeres-Toulon. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Le Portel. Hyeres-Toulon lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket will face Olympique Antibes (#13) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hyeres-Toulon will play against Levallois (#10) and hope to win that game.
