There was no surprise when 8th ranked Latina Basket (13-14) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Bertram Tortona (16-11) 78-71 on Friday. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian forward Paulius Sorokas (202-92, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 19 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The former international power forward Luca Garri (207-82) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Bertram Tortona players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Benjamin Raymond (198-87, college: Xavier) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import power forward Josh Hairston (203-92, college: Duke, agency: Octagon Europe) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Bertram Tortona maintains fifth place in A2 with 16-11 record. Loser Latina Basket dropped to the ninth position with 14 games lost. Bertram Tortona will face league's second-placed Givova Scafati on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Latina Basket will play against Remer Treviglio (#14) and hope to win that game.
