There was no surprise when 8th ranked Union de Sunchales (4-21) was edged at home by fifth ranked Santa Paula (13-11) 84-81 on Friday. Santa Paula made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Union de Sunchales was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Juan Gandoy (185-82) fired 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his fourteen free throws !!!) for the winners. Salvador Giletto (195-93) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Mariano Cerutti (-79) produced 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Matias Penaccino (190-95) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Santa Paula moved-up to third place, which they share with Zarate Indep. Union de Sunchales lost fifth consecutive game.
