There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Cagliari CUS (6-19) defeated at home higher ranked Udine Delser (14-11) 54-47 on Friday. Cagliari CUS held Udine Delser to an opponent 23.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Cagliari CUS forced 21 Udine Delser turnovers. It was a very good performance for forward Giulia Ridolfi (182-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Chiara Rossi (170-88, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Debora Vicenzotti (182-89) answered with 19 points and guard Elisa Mancabelli (173-94) added 5 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Udine Delser. Udine Delser's coach Amalia Pomilio rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cagliari CUS moved-up to thirteenth place in A2. Loser Udine Delser dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. Cagliari CUS will face higher ranked Vicenza (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
