Regular Season Round 31: Nagoya DD - Shiga L-Stars 66-82

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Nagoya where their biggest opponent Diamond Dolphins (24-25) were defeated by third ranked Shiga L-Stars (17-32) 82-66 on Saturday. Shiga L-Stars dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Diamond Dolphins' 30. Shiga L-Stars looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) fired 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Australian forward Venky Jois (202-93, college: E.Washington) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and international guard Shuto Ando (189-94) added 8 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Shiga L-Stars. They maintain third place with 17-32 record having twenty four points less than leader Ryukyu GK, which they share with Osaka Evessa. Diamond Dolphins lost their third game in a row. They keep the second position with 25 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Diamond Dolphins will play against Niigata Albirex and hope to win that game.
