No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Kymis (10-11) defeated at home bottom-ranked Aiolos Trikallon (3-18) 72-63 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-63. Kymis dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Aiolos Trikallon's 28. They outrebounded Aiolos Trikallon 45-27 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Lenzelle Smith-Jr (193-91, college: Ohio St.) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Guard Cameron Jones (193-89, college: N.Arizona) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Gary Talton (185-90, college: Ill.-Chicago) who recorded 20 points, 7 assists and 4 steals and guard Earvin Morris (196-94, college: UTEP) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Kymis maintains seventh place with 10-11 record. Aiolos Trikallon lost their eighth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Kymis will face Aris (#11) in Thessaloniki in the next round. Aiolos Trikallon will play at home against Panionios and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
