Very expected game when 8th ranked MIA-RO Cantu (12-12) lost to third ranked Germani BR (16-7) in Brescia 71-86 on Saturday. Germani BR outrebounded MIA-RO Cantu 46-31 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Marcus Landry (201-85, college: Wisconsin) who led his team to a victory with 17 points. Austrian power forward Benjamin Ortner (206-83, college: Metro St.) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Germani BR's coach Andrea Diana used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. International forward Christian Burns (203-85, college: Thomas Jefferson) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and American swingman Jeremy Chappell (191-87, college: Robert Morris) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for MIA-RO Cantu. Four MIA-RO Cantu players scored in double figures. Germani BR maintains third position with 16-7 record having four points less than leader EA7 Armani. Loser MIA-RO Cantu keeps the eighth place with 12 games lost. Germani BR will face Grissin Bon RE (#12) in Reggio Emilia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MIA-RO Cantu will play on the road against Virtus Bologna (#5) and hope to win that game.
