The game between twelfth ranked Polpharma (15-14) and 10th ranked Asseco (14-13) in Starogard Gdanski on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Polpharma outscored guests from Gdynia 106-82. Polpharma made 28-of-33 free shots (84.8 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Polpharma looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Asseco was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Marcin Flieger (185-84, agency: Promotex) orchestrated the victory by scoring 35 points (!!!), 8 assists and 4 steals. Serbian power forward Milan Milovanovic (205-91, agency: 011 Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Polpharma players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (178-84) replied with 25 points and 5 assists and swingman Jakub Garbacz (197-94) added 24 points in the effort for Asseco. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Polpharma moved-up to ninth place, which they share with PGE Turow. Loser Asseco dropped to the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Polpharma will face Start (#11) in Lublin in the next round. Asseco will play at home against the league's second-placed Twarde Pierniki and will have a slim chance for a victory.
