The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Homenetmen as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A. Homenetmen defeated 5th ranked Champville in Beirut 93-78. Homenetmen looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Naturalized Egyptian power forward Ahmad Ismail (205-76) fired 18 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American swingman Sam Young (198-85, college: Pittsburgh) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds. The former international forward Fadi El-Khatib (198-79) produced 22 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists and American forward Daniel Orton (208-90, college: Kentucky) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Five Homenetmen and four Champville players scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Al Riyadi. Champville lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 12 games lost.
