Second Stage Round 9: Arantia - Residence 91-89

Second-ranked Residence (12-15) was very close to win a game against first ranked Arantia (22-5) in Larochette on Saturday. Arantia managed to secure only two-point victory 91-89. However their fans expected easier game. Arantia dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Residence's 52. Arantia forced 24 Residence turnovers. It was a good game for American swingman Ladarius Tabb (196, college: Alabama A&M) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 18 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Xavier Pollard (193-91, college: Kent St.) contributed with 32 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Point guard Kevin Moura (182-94) answered with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American Jalen Nesbitt (198, college: N.Florida) added 17 points and 17 rebounds in the effort for Residence. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Arantia have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 22-5 record. Residence at the other side keeps the second position with 15 games lost. Arantia are looking forward to face league's leader Racing in Luxembourg in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Residence will play at home against BC Mess and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
