Regular Season Round 24: Papagou - Peristeri GS 64-84

Undefeated leader Peristeri GS delivered the twenty fourth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 11th ranked Papagou (10-14) 84-64 in Athens. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Papagou. The game was mostly controlled by Peristeri GS. Papagou was better in fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Papagou was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for center Tasos Dimitriadis (204-82) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Center Gaios Skordilis (207-87) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Center Petros Melissaratos (205-93) replied with 24 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Alexandros Apostolidis (197-92) added 12 points and 6 assists in the effort for Papagou. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Peristeri GS (24-0) have an impressive 24-game winning streak. Newly promoted Peristeri GS maintains first position with a perfect record of 24 victories in a row. Papagou at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the tenth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Ermis Agias. Peristeri GS will play against league's second-placed Holargos at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Papagou will play against Apollon Patras (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
