No shocking result in a game in Hamamatsu where first ranked Aishin Sea Horses (41-8) smashed 3rd placed San-en NeoPhoenix (22-27) 84-52 on Saturday. Aishin Sea Horses dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to San-en NeoPhoenix's 26. They outrebounded San-en NeoPhoenix 42-29 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Aishin Sea Horses looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international center JR Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. American forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) produced 14 points and 4 assists and the other American import guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the seventeenth consecutive win for Aishin Sea Horses. They maintain first place with 41-8 record. San-en NeoPhoenix lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the third position with 27 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face league's leader Chiba Jets on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. San-en NeoPhoenix will play against Toyama Grouses and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
