Regular Season Round 26: Poitiers - Caen 77-89

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifteenth ranked Caen and 14th ranked Poitiers had identical 8-17 record. But Poitiers was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Caen 89-77 on Saturday night. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 29-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Caen dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Poitiers' 22 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Poitiers' coach Ruddy Nelhomme rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Caen (9-17) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Le Havre. Poitiers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 18 games lost. Caen will face higher ranked Aix-Maurienne (#12) in Aix-les-Bains in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Poitiers will play on the road against Saint Chamond and hope to win that game.
