Regular Season Round 21: Rapla - Valga 91-75

An interesting game for Rapla (15-10) which hosted in Rapla 4th placed Valga (12-13). Third ranked Rapla had an easy win 91-75. The hosts were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 34-16 run, which allowed them to win the game. Rapla outrebounded Valga 41-20 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Rapla especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. 27 personal fouls committed by Valga helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Devonte Upson (206-93, college: SE Louisiana) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Nolan Cressler (195-94, college: Vanderbilt, agency: 3Eye) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Five Rapla players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Latvian point guard Toms Leimanis (190-94) who recorded 14 points and guard Kristaps Miglinieks (196-90) added 14 points respectively. Rapla maintains third place with 15-10 record having nine points less than leader Kalev/Cramo. Valga lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 13 games lost. Rapla's next round opponent will be TLU/Kalev (#6) in Tallinn. Valga will play on the road against the league's second-placed Tartu Ulikool and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
