Important game to mention about took place in Vichy. Tenth ranked JA Vichy (13-13) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 9th ranked ALM Evreux (12-14) 92-89 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of ALM Evreux. ALM Evreux was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 31-21 charge of JA Vichy, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Naturalized Ivorian center Mohamed Kone (211-81, college: Valparaiso) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). David Denave (193-85) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Caleb Walker (194-89, college: Nebraska) replied with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and DR Congolese-Belgian power forward Ruphin Kayembe (200-92) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) in the effort for ALM Evreux. Five JA Vichy and four ALM Evreux players scored in double figures. JA Vichy moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Denain. Loser ALM Evreux dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. JA Vichy will face league's leader ADA Blois on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. ALM Evreux will play against SPO Rouen (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
