Everything went according to plan in Takamatsu where second ranked Kumamoto V. (35-13) outscored 5th ranked Kagawa FA (17-29) 87-60 on Saturday. They outrebounded Kagawa FA 35-22 including a 28-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kumamoto V. shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Takumi Furuno (179-93) stepped up and scored 26 points and 7 assists for the winners and Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) chipped in 15 points and 15 rebounds. Five Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) responded with 24 points and 4 steals and the other American import guard Mizuki Abe (165-93) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumamoto V. maintains second place with 35-13 record having just six point less than leader Akita NH. Kagawa FA lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 29 games lost. Kumamoto V. will have a break next round. Kagawa FA will play again at home against the league's second-placed Kumamoto V. (#2) and hope to win that game.
