An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kyoto. First ranked Ryukyu GK faced their biggest opponent Kyoto Hannar.. Guests from Okinawa (38-11) defeated host Kyoto Hannar. (30-19) 76-65. Ryukyu GK players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 8 assists. American forward Hassan Martin (201-95, college: Rhode Island) accounted for 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Ito Tatsuya (173-94) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for Kyoto Hannar. in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Ryukyu GK. They maintain first place with 38-11 record. Kyoto Hannar. at the other side keeps the second position with 19 games lost. Ryukyu GK's next round opponent will be Toshiba Thunders (#3) in Kanagawa, which may be the game of the day. Kyoto Hannar. will play on the road against Shiga L-Stars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
