There was a minor upset in Nagano where 5th ranked Shinshu BW (23-25) was defeated by fifth ranked Aomori Watts (13-36) 85-81 on Sunday. Aomori Watts made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Point guard Keisuke Aita (182-95) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American forward Tim Dezelski (198-90, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) produced 26 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shinshu BW's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Aomori Watts maintains fifth position with 13-36 record, which they share with Bambitious Nara. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the fifth place with 25 games lost. Aomori Watts will face league's second-placed Fukushima at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
