Regular Season Round 44: BC Nokia - Salon Vilpas 65-114

An interesting game for Salon Vilpas (31-8) which played road game in Nokia against 3rd ranked BC Nokia (23-16). First ranked Salon Vilpas had an easy win 114-65. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of BC Nokia. The game without a history. Salon Vilpas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game, while BC Nokia only scored six points from the stripe. Salon Vilpas looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by BC Nokia's players. American point guard Jaylon Brown (183-94, college: Evansville) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 4 assists. International Matias Ojala (199-89) contributed with 21 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winners. Five Salon Vilpas players scored in double figures. Canadian guard Devoe Joseph (193-90, college: Oregon, agency: Interperformances) replied with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Aapeli Alanen (201-96) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for BC Nokia. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Salon Vilpas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 31-8 record. BC Nokia at the other side keeps the third place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Helsinki Seagulls. Salon Vilpas are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BC Nokia will play against the league's second-placed Kauhajoki (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
