Regular Season Round 26: Spirou B - Melsele 82-71

Rather expected game in Charleroi where 9th ranked Melsele (11-13) was defeated by sixth ranked Spirou B (14-9) 82-71 on Sunday. Strangely Melsele outrebounded Spirou B 40-26 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Bosnian forward Haris Delalic (202-94) who scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Rochdi Benzouien (184-96, agency: Promotex) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. Five Spirou B players scored in double figures. Dutch power forward Patrick Hilliman (206-82, college: High Point) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and point guard Ivan Perez (185-90) added 10 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Spirou B moved-up to fifth place. Loser Melsele keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Spirou B will meet Royal Brussels (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Melsele will play against Soba and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
