Regular Season Round 24: Umana VE - Scandone AV 88-74

An interesting game for Umana Venezia (18-6) which hosted in Venezia 4th ranked Scandone AV (15-9). Second ranked Umana Venezia managed to get a 14-point victory 88-74. Strangely Scandone AV outrebounded Umana Venezia 37-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Mitchell Watt (208-89, college: Buffalo) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 6 rebounds. The former international swingman Stefano Tonut (194-93) contributed with 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Jason Rich (191-86) replied with 22 points and Ukrainian center Kyrylo Fesenko (216-86) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Scandone AV. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains second position with 18-6 record behind leader EA7 Armani. Scandone AV lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with nine games lost. Umana Venezia are looking forward to face Grissin Bon RE (#12) in Reggio Emilia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Scandone AV will play at home against Vanoli Cremona (#7) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
