Regular Season Round 22: Maccabi Haifa - Hapoel J-M 82-94

Very predictable result when third ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (14-8) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Maccabi Haifa (7-15) 94-82. It looked good early as Maccabi Haifa took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hapoel Jerusalem had a 25-14 second period charge getting the lead and Maccabi Haifa was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 82-94. They outrebounded Maccabi Haifa 35-24 including 22 on the defensive glass. Greek Stratos Perperoglou (203-84) notched 20 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and American Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) supported him with 18 points. Four Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. Even 19 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Brandon Bowman (205-84, college: Georgetown) did not help to save the game for Maccabi Haifa. American-Panamanian point guard Trevor Gaskins (188-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Pro Sports) added 22 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Jerusalem have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 14-8 record having just three points less than leader Hapoel Holon. Maccabi Haifa at the other side dropped to the bottom place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Ironi Nahariya.
