Regular Season Round 27: Albacete - L'Hospitalet 58-66

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked L'Hospitalet (15-12) beat on the road 5th ranked Albacete (16-11) 66-58. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-13. But Albacete won second period 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when L'Hospitalet won last quarter 18-12. It was a great evening for DR Congolese-Canadian forward Eric Kibi (198-90, college: Abil.Christian) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Ivan Garcia (206-86) helped adding 10 points. The best for the losing side was American center Babatunde Olumuyiwa (203-92, college: USC Upstate) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and Jose Ortega (192-97) scored 6 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. L'Hospitalet moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Navarra. Albacete at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. L'Hospitalet will play against Real Canoe (#9) in Madrid in the next round. Albacete will play on the road against the league's second-placed La Roda (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
